Creamed Ham on Corn Bread

Rich ham in creamy white sauce served over warm cornbread—a southern-inspired dish perfect for comfort food lovers.

Ingredients

  1. 1 (8.5 ounce) package corn bread/muffin mix
  2. 1 egg
  3. 1/3 cup milk creamed ham:
  4. 2 tablespoons butter or margarine 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon ground mustard
  5. 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 1/2 cups milk
  6. 3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  7. 1 1/2 cups cubed fully cooked ham

Directions

  1. In a bowl, combine corn bread mix, egg and milk until blended. Spread into a greased 8-in. square baking pan. Bake at 400 degrees F for 18-20 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, in a saucepan, melt butter; stir in flour, mustard and salt until smooth. Add milk. Bring to a boil; boil and stir for 2 minutes.
  3. Stir in cheese until melted. Add ham and heat through. Cut corn bread into squares; top with creamed ham.
