Easy Baked Peaches
If you skip the ice cream, then this is a sugary but low fat, low sodium and relatively guilt-free treat.
Ingredients
- 4 medium peaches, halved and pitted
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup or honey
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- vanilla ice cream, optional
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°. Place peach halves in a greased 11x7-in. baking dish, cut side up.
- In a small saucepan, combine water, brown sugar and maple syrup; cook and stir over medium heat until sugar is dissolved. Add butter and cinnamon; cook until butter is melted, 1-2 minutes longer. Pour mixture over peaches.
- Bake, uncovered, until peaches are tender, 25-30 minutes, basting occasionally with juices. If desired, serve over ice cream.
