Grandma's Corn Stew

A homey dish combining corn, milk or cream, potatoes, and ham or bacon. Slightly sweet and savory, this stew recalls simple kitchen-table meals of the past.

Ingredients

  1. 1 pound ground beef
  2. 1 medium onion, chopped
  3. 1/3 cup chopped green pepper 1 (15.25 ounce) can whole kernel corn, drained
  4. 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed tomato soup, undiluted
  5. 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  6. 2 teaspoons sugar 1 1/2 teaspoons salt

Directions

  1. In a large saucepan, cook beef, onion and green pepper over medium heat until the meat is no longer pink; drain. Add the remaining ingredients; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 1 hour.
