Halo Halo Filipino Mixed Fruit Dessert

Halo-Halo is a popular Filipino dessert featuring a colorful mix of shaved ice, sweetened beans, jellies, fruits, and creamy leche flan or ice cream on top. Refreshing and layered with textures, it’s perfect for cooling off and sharing at potlucks!

Ingredients

  1. 6 tablespoons halo-halo mixture, divided into 2 tablespoons each
  2. 2 tablespoons macapuno (preserved shredded young coconut)
  3. 2 tablespoons kaong (palm nuts)
  4. 2 tablespoons nata de coco (coconut gel)
  5. 2 tablespoons fresh grated cantaloupe
  6. crushed or shaved ice
  7. 1/2 cup evaporated milk
  8. vanilla ice cream (can also use mango)

Directions

  1. In a tall glass, layer the first 5 ingredients. Cover with enough ice to fill the glass. Pour evaporated milk onto the ice. Top with a scoop of ice cream.
