Hearty Skillet Stew

One-pan stew loaded with tender meat, vegetables, and rich sauce, cooked quickly in a skillet for an easy, satisfying dinner.

Ingredients

  1. 1/2 pound boneless beef top round steak, cut into 1/2 inch cubes
  2. 1/3 cup chopped onion
  3. 2 cups chopped cabbage
  4. 2 medium carrots, chopped
  5. 1 medium potatoes, cut into 1/2 inch chunks
  6. 3/4 cup water
  7. 1/3 cup reduced-sodium soy sauce
  8. 2 tablespoons sugar
  9. 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch 1 teaspoon cold water

Directions

  1. In a large nonstick skillet coated with nonstick cooking spray, brown steak with onion. Stir in the cabbage, carrots, potato, water, soy sauce and sugar; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 25 minutes or until carrots and potato are tender.
  2. In a small bowl, combine cornstarch and cold water until smooth; stir into beef mixture. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 1-2 minutes or until thickened.
