Peanut Butter Rice Krispie Treats
There are lots of ways to make Rice Krispie treats, and while we haven’t specifically tried any other types of cereal in this recipe, swapping in other cereals for Rice Krispies isn’t a huge gamble. Be sure to keep in mind the cereal’s flavor here, as not everything will pair with peanut butter. Try Cocoa Puffs, Cinnamon Toast Crunch or Corn Flakes.
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 package (10 ounces) miniature marshmallows
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
- 2 tablespoons light corn syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 6 cups rice krispies
Directions
- In a large saucepan or stock pot, melt butter over low heat. Stir in marshmallows until melted, 2-3 minutes. Stir in peanut butter and corn syrup; stir until mixture is melted and smooth, 2-3 minutes. Stir in vanilla extract. Remove from heat, stir in Rice Krispies until incorporated.
- Transfer mixture to a 13x9-in. baking dish. Coat fingers with cooking spray; press mixture down into an even layer. Let sit 1 hour; slice into bars.
