Ron's Stewed Shrimp

Plump shrimp simmered in a spicy tomato sauce with onions and peppers. Great served over rice or grits, this dish blends coastal flavors with simple preparation.

Ingredients

  1. 5 pounds shell-on medium shrimp 1/3 cup mustard seed (such as mccormick®)
  2. 2 tablespoons seasoned salt (such as mccormick season all®)
  3. 2 tablespoons dry mustard powder
  4. 10 tablespoons prepared yellow mustard
  5. 2 teaspoons ground black pepper 1 teaspoon celery salt
  6. 4 cups beer
  7. 2 cups distilled white vinegar 2 bay leaves

Directions

  1. Place the shrimp, mustard seed, seasoned salt, mustard powder, black pepper, and celery salt into a large pot and bring to a boil. Turn the heat off and stir in the bay leaves. Let cool slightly before draining and serving.
