Simple Chili

Simple Chili Recipe- this easy chili recipe is one of the best chili recipes around! Only 30 minutes to make, this healthy recipe doesn’t even need a crockpot!

Ingredients

  1. 1 tablespoon butter
  2. 1 pound ground lean beef/turkey*
  3. 1 medium onion chopped
  4. 1 medium green bell pepper chopped
  5. 2 15 ounce cans petite diced tomatoes drained
  6. 15 ounce can pinto beans rinsed & drained
  7. 15 ounce can kidney beans rinsed & drained
  8. 2 8 ounce cans tomato sauce
  9. 1/2 tablespoon ground ginger
  10. 1 teaspoon mexican chili powder
  11. 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  12. 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  13. 1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt
  14. 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  15. 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper optional
  16. toppings of your choice

Directions

  1. In a Dutch oven or large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add turkey or beef and cook until nearly browned, stirring frequently, approximately 5-7 minutes. Since the meat is lean, it should not require any draining.
  2. Add onion and bell pepper and cook until softened, stirring occasionally, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add remaining ingredients, stirring to combine.
  4. Bring to simmer for a minimum of 10 minutes.
  5. Ladle into bowls and top with your choice of garnishes, cheese, sour cream, raw onions or anything else you can imagine!
